Transparent Windows in Custom Pouches: Show What’s Inside
Exactly where you want. A transparent window in your packaging is a simple upgrade that makes your product feel more trustworthy. It lets customers see the real product inside which is especially powerful for food, coffee, supplements and more.
And you’re not stuck with a standard “one-size-fits-all” window. You decide the shape and position for the clear part in your packaging.
Window design is controlled in the artwork file
Since your window is created directly in the print file, you have a lot of freedom. You’re basically deciding what stays printed and what stays see-through.
- Choose the shape (from clean and simple to fully custom)
- Choose the position (where it looks best on your layout)
- You can even do more than one window
Shapes people love
- Circle, oval, rectangle
- Thin strip / viewing bar
- Diagonal cut
- Custom shapes (logo outline, coffee bean, leaf, etc.)
- Fill-level windows (great for powders, snacks, supplements)
Where to place it
- Bottom for a classic, product-forward look
- Center to make the product the hero
- Side area for a modern, premium vibe
- Near the top for a small “peek” or fill check
- Off-center if you want something more eye-catching
How does a transparent window end up in your pouch?
We’ll show you how easy it is to “play” with a clear window and what actually makes it appear. Here’s the simple rule: we print on a transparent film. Anywhere ink is printed, the film is no longer 100% see-through.

If you want your printed areas to look solid and fully opaque, we need a layer of white underprint (opaque white) behind the colors.

And if you want a transparent window where your product is visible, you simply leave that area completely empty in your print file. That means: no color and no white underprint in that spot.

Quick tip
If you already know you want a window, it’s best to plan it early in the design process so everything (layout, branding, and product visibility) works together. If you already have an artwork, that’s totally fine too. We can help you adjust the file so the clear area lands exactly where you want it.
